Terms of Service

Last updated 31 August 2026

This is a general-purpose starting point, not legal advice specific to your business. Have a solicitor review it — especially the liability and cancellation sections — before relying on it.

1. Agreement

By creating an account, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use Billex.

2. The service

Billex lets you create, send, and track invoices and quotes, manage customers and expenses, and estimate tax. It's a tool to help you run your business — it doesn't replace an accountant, and your tax estimate is exactly that: an estimate, not filed tax advice.

3. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything that happens under your account. Give us accurate information when you sign up. You're responsible for the accuracy of the invoices, quotes, and customer data you create — including making sure you have a lawful basis to hold your own customers' data.

4. Plans & billing

The Free plan has usage limits (see Pricing). Paid plans are billed in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from Settings → Billing — you'll keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. Fees already paid aren't refunded except where required by law.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use Billex to send fraudulent invoices, spam, or anything illegal, and don't try to abuse or circumvent plan limits (e.g. creating multiple free accounts to avoid paying). We can suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms.

6. Availability

We aim to keep Billex available and reliable but don't guarantee it'll be uninterrupted or error-free. The service is provided "as is".

7. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Billex isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses (like lost profits) arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, such as for fraud.

8. Ending your account

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms or that we reasonably believe are being used fraudulently.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
